Guitarist Jamie saw all four band members available at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and started looking for a rehearsal room. Then the singer said they had to leave at eight, while the drummer could only arrive at 7:30. A shared half hour was not the two-hour rehearsal they needed. This is a fictional four-person band example.
Count the whole time in the room
An hour of music can also require setup, sound checks and packing away. This band agreed to allow two hours in total. The invitation asked members to mark when they could actually be in the room, from arrival to departure.
Jamie opened several evening dates with 30-minute steps. Since all four were needed for this rehearsal, the group had to find a continuous period that worked for all four. Choosing the busiest single cell could not establish that.
Check every cell between the start and finish
In Pithup's results, look along the same date. A rehearsal from seven to nine needs four consecutive 30-minute cells that work for the required musicians. Matching cells at the beginning and end do not help if someone is unavailable in the middle.
In this example, Tuesday had no two-hour stretch for the whole band. Instead of booking a time for three members, Jamie asked about the following Thursday. Whether a part can be left out is a decision for the band, not something an availability score can settle.
Check the room after checking the musicians
Even if Thursday from eight to ten works for everyone, the room may already be booked. Check availability and get the band's agreement before confirming the schedule in the owner workspace. If the venue has a booking deadline, state an earlier reply deadline in the invitation.
Someone who needs travel time should mark availability from their arrival. Use If needed when attendance depends on moving another commitment, then check that the change is possible before reserving the room.
Share the booking details and rehearsal plan
The announcement should include the date, time, room name and entry instructions. Agree on songs, equipment and cost sharing in the band's usual channel. Use Pithup to coordinate times, and follow the venue's own booking and payment process.
The useful overlap is a period long enough to rehearse together, not just a moment when the grid is darkest.
